Homemade teriyaki sauce

I love teriyaki sauce. After moving to a more healthy lifestyle I found that I could not just go and get some for dinner. If you have not looked there are a ton of bad stuff inside the store bought brands.

So, I went out and tried to make it at home and found that it is the easiest thing to make.

This sauce is very easy to make at home and usually tastes great with anything. When you make any sauce or dressing from home you can control what goes inside of it. This makes it easier to have food that tastes great and that promotes health.

The best part about this recipe is that you can make as little or as much as you want with it. When making this just combine equal parts of the Soy, Sake, Sugar and Rice wine vinegar.

Homemade teriyaki sauce

This is a very tasty and easy sauce to make from home. You can adjust how much you make on the fly. The secret is to keep the ratios even between all of the indigence.

  1. Combine equal parts of all the ingredients in a sauce pan stir and reduce at low/medium heat. You can also add in the dried red peppers to make the sauce a little spicy. When you heat it the sugar will dissolve into the mixture.
  2. Stir and reduce the liquid to the desired consistency. The sugar will caramelize so you can get a sticky sauce if you like. If you use to high of a heat you might burn the sugar. The sauce should be a deep brown. If it is black then you burnt it.
  3. Play around and adjust the taste that you are looking for. From here you can use it as a sauce for sushi, chicken, salads or as a base for a marinade. Be creative and enjoy!
