Chiropractic Minute: Blood Sugar Causing Sleep Problems

We are going to talk to you about how to fix your blood sugar in order to sleep better at night time. I know that is kind of interesting to a lot of you, that your blood sugar actually has something to do with how you sleep at night.

This is a hormonal thing. Melatonin makes us sleep at night, and when cortisol is high because our blood sugar is not working appropriately we don’t have melatonin to help us go to sleep.

So, a couple of things you can do. Supplementation is very important to this, but you will want to get with a professional to actually help you with that supplementation. However, things that you can do at home:

1) Eat breakfast within the first 30 minutes of waking up. A real meal, not sugars. Have some protein.
2) Eat Protein 3x per day.
3) Eat a small meal every couple of hours throughout the day.
4) Massively increase vegetable intake.

These small things help regulate blood sugar throughout the day. Helping with hypoglycemia and insulin resistance.

Those who have serious blood sugar issues, you will want to get with a health care provider to help assist you with managing the condition.

Otherwise, you can use these things and you may actually see an improvement in the same day that you do this.
