After looking at many different books, websites, audio programs, and even attending lectures on this topic it amazed me how misunderstood this topic can be. Many times I would be reading a book and think “hey, this guy knows what he is talking about!” but a few chapters later he would make recommendations that were opposite to what he just stated. So I started asking questions of why is it that many of the people teaching about pH don’t seem to agree with each other? Where are the discrepancies? After looking at where pH therapies came from and the ideas behind it I found an answer.
Many people teach pH to be one solid topic.
Some people teach that every pH in the body should be alkaline. You don’t need any kind of science degree to know that you need stomach acid and that acid is very important for digestion. So why it is that acid is bad? The reality is that there are different areas where we need to be alkaline and areas where we need to be acidic. There are also several different aspects to actually being alkaline. The problem arises because each area has different information and interactions with the body.
Being acid and alkaline
Did you know that if you lack stomach acid then your absorption of the alkaline minerals will decrease? In other words if your stomach is alkaline your physiology will become more acidic because your mineral content will go down. We need to know that there are areas of the body that need to be acid, or it is in our best interest to be acid. So being alkaline doesn’t always mean we need to force physiology to be alkaline.
Two main areas of pH
Much of the information that is present on pH focuses on metabolism or metabolic aspects of pH. Here we are looking at what is happening inside of the cell. This is an extremely important area and this is the basis for the alkalizing theories. Metabolism is only half of the equation though. In chemistry we know that pH can also be measured in voltage. Voltage is the other aspect of alkalizing we need to know.
Voltage is the juice behind the scenes. Think of a car battery. If we have the alkaline minerals but no charge then we cannot start the car. But the solution will not hold a charge if the minerals are not there.
Remember you can have enough minerals to be alkaline and still be sick.
SO, the question is how can I get extra voltage to kick off your alkaline reserves? Many people jump on the expensive water ionizers and if you are really sick they may provide some help. We need to open our mind a little here. The ionizers are great but how can you measure your voltage with one? That is why we use a different type of technology in our office. I know that technology is very seductive in our journey to become well, but we need to visit something that can be a very powerful addition to alkalizing.
I don’t care how many tools, tricks, or toys you have. If you don’t work with the lifestyle aspects of pH your success will only be marginal. I am talking more than just an alkaline diet. So many people camp out on the diet aspects of alkalizing just because it is so easy to teach. What about the other aspects of lifestyle?
